Whilst at college and university I was working part-time whilst studying to become a Software Developer.I was keen to experience a number of other work environments and roles though. Firstly to ensure that I had a breadth of experience in a number of roles before settling down in 1 work area/type of environment for a large amount of my career. Secondly for the actual experience of trying different roles in and of itself.These differing jobs included retail (all aspects of one major national retailer), work in factories and warehouses as well as building work.This means I have the perspective of working in a distributor dealing with orders to a retailer and also at a retailer, dealing with orders to distributors. I have worked in a company head office and at the customer facing end dealing with communications from a head office and so on. I found this experience really helps in diagnosing problems as I can more easily see things from a users perspective and predict potential problems and edge cases.Specialties: C#, XLSFO, internationalisation
