In my tenure at HSBC, I transitioned from a contract Cyber Security Specialist to a permanent Infrastructure Security Manager Risk and Control manager. I led efforts to fortify digital defences, manage key infrastructure, and integrate sustainability into IT practices.Directed a Global Security Team: Managed a diverse team to oversee infrastructure security, focusing on compliance and vulnerability assessment across all IT domains. Designing and implementing a bespoke application for the management and reporting of configuration controls.NIST Framework Implementation: Spearheaded the adoption of the NIST framework for infrastructure security, ensuring robust configuration controls and aligning with global standards.Sustainability in ITAD: Launched a pioneering IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) initiative, blending environmental responsibility with security. I am a contract Senior Project Manager working within service delivery . I have been part of a team managing a variety of large scale projects within technology within Lloyds Banking Group:- Microsoft OneCRM product- Microsoft SCCM product- Rollout of Windows 7 upgrade (Desktop and Servers)- I provide support to the Innovation teamWithin these projects I have managed, Risks, Issues, Budgets, compliance and governance as well as multiple implementations and disaster recovery events.

Working with great startups trying to make them more awesome

Edinburgh based startup connecting students and business 'Everybody starts somewhere!' After leaving Skyscanner I focused on my own startup. Working with some great co-founders we tried to prove the assumption that:' Great software developers were great developers at school and in the early days of University'The goal of this startup was to provide working opportunities for less experienced developers. Instead of these guys doing paper rounds or working in pubs we wanted to mentor these into professional firms. Delivering out sourced work.After some success we determined through feedback and our own experience that the level of support we needed to provide each candidate was too high. Most firms only wanted interns through their own intern programmes - this changed the model therefore to one of a recruitment model. This was not a concept we wanted to pivot into.

Skyscanner is the jewel within the Scottish Tech scene. I was fortunate to work with the most amazing team of digital resources and play my part in its rapid rise to Unicorn status. My role although evolved as the company evolved from Project Manager to Scrum Master to Product Manager to value bringer.I learned two valuable lessons at Skyscanner:- 'You are not the typical user'- Learn to learnThis was my foundation mantra's from where I was bought into the agile ideology. Learn and Ask for feedback in everything you do - Skyscanner taught me skills and lessons that I have used to help numerous other companies and people.I strived to use evidence and metrics in all decision making, constantly iterating, testing and researching products I act based on data.
