Quality Test Lab Engineer
Current• Implement Design for Six Sigma (DfSS) tools and methods from a quality perspective for all New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.• Interface globally with Marketing, Product Architecture, Design, Manufacturing, Failure Analysis (FA), Approbations and Program Management teams for successful project completion focusing on product Quality, Cost and Schedule.• Lead and document the Critical to Quality (CTQ) flow-down process for design and manufacturing while considering the end-user / customer (Voice of the Customer (VoC)), business directives (Voice of the Business (VoB)) and Marketing requirements. Ensure the CTQ specs are measurable and acceptance criteria are well defined. Share CTQ information with the core team.• Work closely with the Manufacturing team to assist in developing Functional Test Plans (FTP) with a main focus on robust functional tests (e.g. pseudo-HASS type testing) and test spec limits, and defining more robust Burn-in procedures on a product-by-product basis minimizing infant mortality field-failures.• Approach all NPI projects from a System-Level perspective leveraging the V-Model process while understanding and taking action against product features, functions and requirements at each V-Model level from the highest level system to the lowest level components. Request that the team uses tools such as application and use-case diagrams, functional block-diagrams, flow charts, state-machines, wiring diagrams, etc. in order to better define requirements at each block in the V-Model.• Develop, review and implement component-level to system-level test plans at each V-Model level at the appropriate project phases, validating the design and manufacturing processes. Document communicate to core team and react to test results focusing on robust, reliable products and systems.
