I have now stood for the States of Jersey for more than eight years, including both as Deputy of St Helier and as Senator. I was appointed Minister for Economic Development in December 2008. Since this time I have:Overseen the diversification and development of all economic sectors including Finance, Tourism, Agriculture and Retail, as well as the digital economy. Helped to promote a greater level of support to SME’s, to facilitate the creation of new businesses and job opportunitiesHelped to develop strategies towards the public sector reform including the Jersey Innovation Fund in 2013Represented the employer’s side on the Manual Workers Joint CouncilBeen instrumental in introducing a range of regulatory functions including the Jersey Gambling Commission, Disaster Recovery Regulations for e-gaming.
