My passion for aviation and satellites has been my life-long North Star, guiding my career from my internship at the National Research Council, Canada Centre for Space Science, to virtually every company that I have served with in the last 20+ years.These days, satellite communications (SATCOM) for aviation are evolving quickly with many disruptive developments. Fortunately, disruption often spawns new opportunities, and this is especially true with in-flight connectivity (IFC). For example,• After Aircell (which became Gogo Business Aviation) won an FCC auction, I had the great privilege of defining and leading the launch of their IFC products and services which transformed a $26 million/year hardware-centric business into a $300+ million/year services-centric business.• When satellite based IFC was gaining traction with the airlines, I was honored to have been asked to help Gogo Commercial Aviation win airline customers in Europe/Middle East/Africa, Asia, and Latin America.From converting disruptive technologies into successful businesses, I have gained a unique combination of experience and skills including• Commercial and business aviation experience• Engineering and business expertise• Hardware and service provider experienceI am thrilled about the imminent future disruptions in IFC and look forward to bringing my passion, enthusiasm, and competing-to-win attitude for IFC to these upcoming Low Earth Orbit networks, industry consolidation and digital transformation "disruption" parties.
