Working on the Resource Request process, and providing recommendations, justifications and submissions to people leaders in LP IT. I also maintained and updated the associated SharePoint site and list to request resources. Worked in conjunction with my supervisor on providing accurate resource placement information which will feed the workforce management process and plan for 2014. Late in 2013, I spent a lot of time reviewing our contractor vacancies and ensuring that our headcount remained below the threshold. This allowed for tighter management of headcount which in turn allowed us to help manage costs associated with contractors. I also assisted people leaders in identifying their staffing needs and determining the most viable and cost-effective method to achieve their requirements. Through micro-resourcing I was able to ensure that we could align our staff (through Level I and II roles) to project work. We were able to ensure that all committed projects were fully resourced.

Along with my management of the overall team, I was responsible for the providing the forum and tools for my team to be innovative and creative. Ensuring that IT Projects has the right skills and right number of skills available to be able to effectively manage our portfolio of project and delivery our projects on time and on budget. Responsible for the overall deployment of business applications for IT Projects at Enbridge Liquid Pipelines in Edmonton. Leading a team of skilled IT employees and contractors towards the enhancement of existing business applications and the implementation of new applications and content/records management applications such as SharePoint and Livelink. Also involved in the implementation of new business third party software applications.

I currently manage 25 consultants across Canada. My roles include managing the employee development process for professionals in the Service Line; serving as a mentor, coach, and counselor to help consultants develop their skills; responsible for conducting formal and informal performance reviews; developing individualized career development plans; Identifying training needs; and acting as the Canadian liaison for third party organizations. Much of the focus of this position is on developing and retaining a talent pool of top performers. In this position, I reports directly to the Regional Vice President for the Oracle Financials Pillar.

In the Spring of 1997, the University of Alberta purchased a full suite of Financial and Human Resource PeopleSoft modules to deploy Information System business process “best practice” software solutions to replace its legacy-based administrative applications. In June of 1997, I was asked to take on the role of Technical Project Manager for the project. As Technical Project Manager, my mandate was to provide technical project management expertise and project management to this complex and critical initiative. Up to December of 1997, my role was to direct the activities of a team of 12 technical resources. This included ensuring the plans, strategies, and requirements for the technical infrastructure components of the project were identified, defined, and integrated with the existing university technical infrastructure. In 1998, I took over the role of overall Project Manager for the PeopleSoft HRMS implementation, which included management of a team of about 50 individuals.

As a Project Manager, my role was to provide a large government insurance company (WCB) with assistance in the design phase of the Public Sector PeopleSoft Financials software vendor package to accommodate a full suite of financial applications including General Ledger (G/L), Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), Billing, and Purchasing. I assisted in developing the overall Proposal and Plan for designing the financial components based on a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) from the insurance company.I provided assistance to the Worker’s Compensation Board of Alberta in redeveloping their Underwriting processes related to Insurance Pricing. The Insurance Pricing Capability System (IPCS) project included management of employer classifications; coverage and claim experience information to support employer revenue and injury management programs with the objectives of business simplification and improved business flexibility.

I was in charge of Quality Control for the development of a new Personal Computer based Payroll and General Ledger application. The project involved the design, coding, testing, mainframe conversion, and implementation of the application to over 100 regional health care facilities. I managed the transition and training, and developed the retroactive Payroll and General Ledger interface functions for the new application. As well, I was extensively involved in providing customer service to facilities and users.
