I currently sit on the Management Committee of Ballymena Borough Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Having joined the Chamber MC in 2004 I have acted as Vice-President from 2012 - 2014 and President from 2014-2016.BBCCI promotes, develops and protects with professionalism and integrity the interests of all businesses within the Borough of Ballymena.We strive to support and promote all that is good within the Borough of Ballymena and seeks to keep commerce flowing within the local business community.

Working with the NAS' Executive Board to support the needs of our membership throughout the UK shopfitting and interior contracting industry.

The National Association of Shopfitters (NAS) has successfully represented and promoted the shopfitting and interior contracting sector successfully since 1919. Interior contracting is a constantly evolving industry, driven by technology and a growing global market that is always looking for new ideas and distinctive approaches. The NAS is governed by an elected Board which sets the industry's policy and direction and is responsible for promotion of the association, support for its membership, skills and training, Health and Safety standards and championing technical innovation in the industry.Offering expert guidance and specialist advice, the NAS brand is recognised by designers and clients alike as the symbol of quality and reliability in shopfitting and interior contracting.

In my role at Marcon Fit-Out I am responsible for leading the business development function, strategic direction, developing customer awareness of the company's services and identifying new business partners and customers.I am also responsible for the formulation and implementation of marketing strategies and the coordination of communication to a variety of industry sectors. This takes many forms from digital communication to printed materials and advertising to public relations and industry awards.

The NI Chamber Council has the following functions:- To assist NI Chamber becoming and being recognised as the ultimate business network.- To collect, represent and promote the interests, views, and opinions of the Members and of thebusiness community generally interpreting to the best of its ability the true interests of the NIChamber and its members as a whole.- To advise the Board on major policy issues relating to the prosperity of industry and the economy in Northern Ireland.

During my time at Patton’s I was responsible for the formulation and implementation of the strategic marketing plan and management of the entire marketing function for the £200 million construction business. I chaired the business development team which consisted of Directors and senior management. This group contributed to and monitored the company’s sales pipeline across local, national and international markets.From a marketing perspective I was responsible for a number of key elements of the business.PR – Developed and implemented the PR strategy for the company and ensured that a coherent brand message was delivered across print media, industry associations, digital media, radio and TV. Working with a wide range of editor and journalist contacts across many industry sectors including retail, hospitality, commercial, residential, property and constructionBrand – Successfully coordinated the complete brand refresh of the group in 2011. At all stages of the process I managed all of the external professionals and involved key members of staff throughout each element of the rebrand. Engaging, inspiring and leading the Board of Directors through this process.Communication – Responsible for the creation and implementation of the communication strategy, liaising with respective senior members of staff to ensure effective and efficient delivery. Planning, developing, managing and executing internal and external marketing communications. Digital –Overseeing all digital marketing, including the company’s dynamic website, ezine newsletters, Twitter channel, Facebook page and the adoption of LinkedIn by staff.Profile –Fostered a rapport with core and vertical media, creating mutually respected relationships to ensure coverage of successfully completed projects, industry award wins, innovative programmes and success stories. Responsible for entry into regional, national and international awards, winning 75+ industry and business award wins since 2006.
