As an intern within an agile team, I was able to invest in learning the surrounding work environment provided for me. The work I did ranged from multiple crafts from front-end to back-end solutions.I first contributed in building a RESTful web service that was able to conceive and post data (XML) through an external VM that contained IIS/ARR. My second contribution was the front-end of an in-house book keeping library platform that a user was able to create a listing of books that was directly stored within a database. We incorporated Google's Material Design library to make the front end more user friendly. One of our final tasks as interns was starting an initiative to research and create prototypes for a forms builder platform. A lot of stacks were considered for the solution, as for the front-end side, we were able to trial Polymer, AngularJS and ReactJS. I was lucky enough to be able to run a personalized design sprint that produced several UX and UI prototypes. Involving numerous colleagues gathered together from different skills and expertise, We went on a learning journey on requirements gathering and user experience.Design Sprint Journey:• Day 1, I was able to successfully convey an existing idea and gather intensive feedback from a single session. • Day 2 involved 3 sessions of rapid fire storyboarding which pushed creativity to outside-the-box limits. • Day 3 involved merging the top storyboards to produce electronic prototypes that described the user experience and look. • Day 4 - the final day, was getting feedback from numerous people and client handlers. The experience took an unexpected turn from awkward beginnings to being a success and provided clarity to managers involved in the project.
