    Executive Director
The Big Wild Dec 2019 - Present
    Palo Alto, California
https://thebigwild.comThe Big Wild is a Technology for Nature Based Solutions company. We specialize in utilizing the latest in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Geospatial technology to bring Sustainability Development Goal data to life. We can tell you how much carbon a particular forest is sequestering annually, run predictive modeling on key wildlife species data, natural disaster predictions, Water and aquifer quality and concerns and provide valuation of that area to the local and indigenous communities for full-circle support. After all, who is better at being a conservation land steward than the indiginous tribe that has been caring for that land for centuries. Our planet is currently in a global extinction crisis. The UN report on the state of biological diversity predicts that more than 1 million species are on track for extinction within the next few decades.Wildlife like Polar Bears, are disappearing right before our eyes. Several species of Rhino, Orangutans, Elephants, Tigers, wolves and even Dolphin are just some of the larger animals that are not likely to survive the next decade. The Big Wild believes it is s not only a decade for disruptive technology, it is a decade for disruptive conservation. The era of competitive, non-collaborative data collection for wildlife conservation is over. It is time we all work together, supporting each-others conservation efforts and sharing data for the mutual goal of stopping the mass extinction. There is a massive responsibility to provide solid, accurate SDG Data, because imperative conservation decisions are being made based off of our data. The Big Wild was created in order to answer the need for advances impact through technology to best support our planets creates needs. Our World is undergoing major life quality threats,What we do about it now, will determine the future of life on our planet.
  • Bezos Earth Fund
Bezos Earth Fund Artificial Intelligence For Climate And Nature Judge
Bezos Earth Fund Jul 2024 - Nov 2024
    California, United States
As one of the internationally selected Judges, I was honored to review, advise, work on and Judge with The Grand Challenge as we welcomed transformative ideas that aimed to accelerate efforts to address climate change and nature loss through the use of modern AI. Climate change and threats to nature are among the world’s most difficult problems. People are already using artificial intelligence to monitor greenhouse gas emissions, detect methane leaks and forest fires, and advance a clean energy economy — but it’s time to do more, faster. The Bezos Earth Fund wants to explore how the responsible use of modern AI may supercharge efforts to help protect our planet and our future. Climate and nature organizations working on the ground understand global conditions and what it takes to implement workable environmental solutions. But many of these frontline organizations don’t have sufficient technology expertise, infrastructure, or funding to apply AI solutions on their own. Meanwhile, AI researchers and technology providers understand the potential and practical application of rapidly evolving technologies, but may not have experience implementing climate or nature solutions on the ground.A world-changing opportunityTo create and scale new solutions, we need to incentivize partnerships across experts in climate, nature, and AI. Through the Grand Challenge, these collaborators have an opportunity to bring speed, scale, accuracy, and precision to their climate and nature efforts by proposing, designing, and deploying modern AI solutions. Targeted funding — combined with access to mentorship and other in-kind resources — can incentivize collaboration, stimulate innovation, and nurture solutions that might not otherwise exist.
