Research Assistant Of European Research Council (Erc): Trapsensor Project.University Of Granada Oct 2014 - Jun 2015Granada, SpainHigh performance mass spectrometry using a quantum sensor.Department of Atomic, Molecular and Nuclear Physics.The objective of this experimental work is to design a quantum sensor based on an ion trap to develop high-performance mass spectroscopyExperimental equipment: Manage different single mode diode lasers, Ti: Sapphire CW laser and control them with different software, design with Autocad and build pieces to try new experiments and new ideas. I have designed different pieces to have inside Paul trap laser light in different directions and I have designed the optical system of a Paul trap and a two sensor Penning trap. Alignment of optical systems using, mirrors, lenses, monomode and multimode fibers, fiber couplers, polarizers, filters, beam splitters, CCD camera, etc. Different measurements with Paul and Penning traps. Maintenance of Penning trap semiconductor with Helium and Nitrogen. Manage of cryocooler and vacuum pumps.I got more experience in how to move and work in a laboratory (making different setups, managing and calibrating different kind of lasers with its softwares, design of vacuum pieces, doing measurments of an ion traps with different cameras and softwares, etc.) and how to look for materials and contact with different commercial companies. -

Group of nonlinear optics (DONLL) of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Department of Nuclear Physics.Experimental equipment: femtosecond pulsed laser (Ti: Sapphire Mira Optima 900-F, Coherent, Verdi-V10 laser pumped Self-Modelocking tunable between 700 and 980 nm, frequency of 76 MHz, 1.8W pulsed mode, 2.3W continuous mode). Study about pulse characterization using several methods (autocorrelation, FROG, SPIDER, d-scan), mainly a new method using the nonlinear crystal SBN. Alignment of optical systems using nonlinear crystals (BBO and SBN), lenses, mirrors, beam splitters, filters, objectives, CCD camera, spectrometer, oscilloscope, Avasoft 7.3, etc. Theoretical study about the evolution of ultra-short pulses characteristics propagating in a crystal, simulations of these propagations and algorithms to analyze the data from the new assembly made with Matlab. -
