Dependent functionally on the Accountable Manager, the Post Holder is the Company’s interface towards ENAC (Italian Civil Aviation Authority) for the management and supervision of the following activities, related to Milan Linate and Malpensa airports:• Compliance of design, developed internally or by third parties, of all new infrastructure relating to terminals, movement areas (including runways, taxiways, aprons, etc..), airport ground area and airport surrounding areas;• Compliance of design of all the refurbished infrastructure with the regulations in force;• Determination of the physical characteristics of airports and reporting of data;• Effectiveness of the design relatively to the safety levels expected;• Planned activities by current environmental regulations and monitoring on the interrelationships airport / territory.

Reporting directly to the Infrastructure Director and coordinating sixty technicians (operating with 2D CAD), I have the following responsibilities for the infrastructure design of Linate and Malpensa airports:• Airports planning;• Feasibility studies and preliminary and final design of:• Airport buildings (passengers terminals, cargo terminals and warehouses, hangars, power plants – including architectural design, civil works, lighting systems, electric power supply, thermo-mechanical equipment, distribution networks, markings and signs for passengers and operators);• Airport flight infrastructure (runways, taxiways, aprons, airside roads, visual aids – AGL Aeronautical Ground Lights, Markings and Signs – including civil ground works, electric power supply and distribution networks, obstacle limitation surfaces);• Ground Systems equipment (Docking Guidance System, 400Hz equipment, etc..);• Airport accessibility system (parkings, landside roads);• Automated equipment (Baggage Handling Systems, ULD Handling Systems, Passengers’ Boarding Bridges, lifts, escalators, moving walkways).

Reporting directly to the Infrastructure Director and coordinating five technicians (operating with 2D CAD), I had the following responsibilities for Linate and Malpensa airports:• Development of preliminary and detailed design of PBBs (Passengers Boarding Bridges), lifts, moving walkways, escalators, BHS (Baggage Handling Systems), UHS (ULD Handling Systems) and luggage trolleys systems; integration of X-ray and tomographic machines into the BHS;• Development of Technical Reports for request of authorization to Italian National Institutes (ENAC – Civil Aviation Authority; ASL – Health and Safety Institute; V.F. – Fire Brigade; USTIF – Branch of Ministry of Transportation for lifts, moving walkways and escalators);• Preparation of documents for Tenders (according to Italian Legislative Decree no. 163 of 12.04.2006); participation in the Boards of Examiners of Tenders.• Project Engineer for the design and implementation of automated systems (BHS, UHS);• Project Manager and execution of technical and functional test for UHS automated equipment at Malpensa Cargo City;• Execution of technical-functional and performance tests of automated systems (BHS, UHS), as well as of static tests on steel structures;• Teacher at Politecnico di Milano "Master in Gestione Aeroportuale - 1st Level - 1st Edition 2006-2007 and 2nd Edition 2008-2009" http://www.aero.polimi.it/include/Master_2009/docenti_6.html.• Main projects at Malpensa Terminal 1: new tray BHS, HBS (Hold Baggage Screening) and EBS (Early Bags System); new Schengen and Extra-Schengen Baggage reclaim systems; new check-in islands; UHS automated equipment at Cargo City; passengers transportation equipment (lifts, escalators e moving walkways); 15 PBBs at Satellite C; passengers’ luggage trolleys systems.• Main projects at Malpensa Terminal 2: refurbishment of existing BHS; implementation of new HBS; passengers transportation equipment (lifts, escalators).• Main projects at Linate: refurbishment of existing BHS.

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager and coordinating twenty-five technicians (operating with 2D/3D CAD), I was responsible for the preliminary and detailed design of mechanical presses for cold forming of steel sheets and for hot forging of brass.Main projects: mechanical presses from 430tons to 2.000tons (eccentric type, link lever type, link drive type), to be supplied to automotive Manufacturers (Renault, Peugeot, Fiat, General Motors, etc.) and to household appliances Manufacturers (Electrolux, Whirlpool, Merloni, etc.).

1990-1996 Head of Calculation Department.- Calculations of bogie frames and car bodies, using FEM, and of vehicles performances/dynamic behaviours; static and fatigue tests.1991-1996 Head of RAMS Department- RAMS analyses (FMECA, FTA, Preventive and Corrective Maintenance Analysis, RCM, Safety Analysis, Reliability assessment, etc.).1994-1996 Co-ordinator of ‘Raggruppamento TAF’ RAM Team, for the supply of 109 TAF (Double Deck Commuters trains) to “FS" (Italian State Railways) and to “Ferrovie Nord Milano”.1995-1996 Co-ordinator of ‘Consorzio TREVI’ RAM Team, for the supply of 60 ETR500 (3kV and ‘Polytension’) high speed trains to “FS”.1996-1997 Project Leader of motor and trailer “low floor” bogies design, for Birmingham Midland Metro LRVs.1997-2000 Head of Bogies Design Department (design of complete bogies for railways vehicles, tramcars, LRVs);1999-2000 Project Engineer, responsible for the car body mechanical design of Eurotrams, supplied to Milan Transport Authority.
