Data Analytics Associate
I work on the Clarify Insights Team providing analytical support to our pre sales, software implementation and direct customer project work. I utilize SQL to query our data lake and tailor output to meet customers needs and act as primary contact for one of our ongoing customer engagements. As this engagement has expanded to include a second analysis, I now project manage all the work requested by this customer and have have taken on the QA of work outputs before they are finalized.
Health Care Data Analyst Ii
I worked in the Quality Health Informatics group at THP that worked primary on the coding and preparation of HEDIS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set) measures that are submitted to NCQA (National Committee for Quality Assurance) that is used to rate health plans across the country. My role involved querying our internal claims data warehouse using SAS (Proc SQL) to pull information used to identify members that have received different types of preventative care services as specified by NCQA and analyze this to determine HEDIS measure rates. I also maintained forecasting spreadsheets to determine current HEDIS rates as compared to national benchmarks and the progress of medical record review for certain measures. My team then pivoted to serve as the ad-hoc analysis group for the quality improvement department where I primarily supported our teams working with the Medicaid population. I would query our data warehouse in SQL to pull relevant information about our members receiving behavioral health services to help our care teams improve continuity of care for those members.I also worked on other quality improvement projects such as running and generating reports for the sales to for use in presentations to employer groups on how well overall employees are receiving good preventative care and sending immunization mailing reminders to parents to encourage them to have their children receive recommended immunizations.I performed other ad-hoc analyses using SAS or SQL as requested.
Data Manager Intern
In this role as the data manager for the regional site for NEPHTC, I have created presentations to present to the program's grant supervisor using data visualization skills. I have also prepared and maintained accurate databases that help streamline the reporting process for a quarterly evaluation of our program.
Data Analyst Intern
I worked alongside the post-doctoral fellow to collect and analyse data from two major data sources to research antibiotic prescribing practices, use and perceptions of rapid diagnostic tests and determine barriers to use to help prevent antibiotic-resistant infections. The first was a large dataset gathered from Boston Medical Center of all upper respiratory tract infections cases seen from 2016-2018 which was extracted from our data warehouse using ICD-10 codes and the other was from a survey administered to providers. Using this data, I looked at distributions of the data in SAS. After determining variables that were of interest, I built logistic and poisson regression models to look at use of rapid diagnostic tests and whether antibiotics were prescribed. I also collaborated on writing up these findings into a peer-review article to be submitted for publication. To help in that process, I developed more knowledge in this area by completing a literature review of more than 30 peer-reviewed articles.
Data Analyst Intern
I worked as both a data analyst intern and help to implement and new research study and tax preparation site at a school in Dorchester. I was responsible for entering and cleaning data from two tax sites, one at the main StreetCred site in Boston Medical Center, the other from UCLA. I then merged these datasets to start providing information to one of the co-founders of the organization to help with future planning for the sites and program. I was also responsible for developing study materials such as qualitative interview guides, consent documents and successfully moved the study process forward by submitting the proposal for IRB approval. I also explored other funding mechanisms for the research study and was able to applied and be approved for the additional grant funding. This allowed for more flexibility in the budget that was necessary to hire a crucial tax site manager for the school where the program would take place.
Clinical Investigation Technician
My role as a clinical investigation technician had me working as the primary study coordinator for an intensive sleep study at Brigham and Women's Hospital. My role was to guide research participants through the screening process and their inpatient stay.I also was responsible create advertising plans for the study, conducting weekly recruitment meetings, responsibilities as an IRB administrator for my group.
Research Assistant
As a research assistant, my role was to screen, and complete pre/post study assignments for two different psychiatric research projects. I also collected valuable feasibility and acceptability data through the use of follow-up surveys and semi-structured qualitative interviews.
Coordinator
Working with my fellow coordinator, we were responsible for grouping students of entry level Chemistry courses with peer-leaders in our program. I was responsible for training 1-2 new leaders per year and in leading the leadership training class when the faculty adviser could not. I also dealt with any questions or complaints raised by the students or leaders.
