Frequent collaborator with the woodwind quintet, Black Cat Ensemble. Black Cat Ensemble plays a diverse selection of traditional woodwind quintet repertoire, as well as arrangements, transcriptions, and original works for mixed winds chamber ensembles. Black Cat Ensemble also provides schools and communities with educational and interactive performance presentations.

Co-founder. Microcosm Ensemble is a modular chamber ensemble working beyond the confines of standard instrumentation. Core members include Jennifer Rodriguez (flute) and Alec Burke (trumpet). Our mission consists of commissioning works for flute and trumpet and providing outreach opportunities for communities to experience chamber music performance in a variety of settings. By providing intimate music experiences, Microcosm creates a bridge between our community and the larger Classical Music world.

I have served as a private instructor, sectional coach, guest clinician, and adjudicator for many schools across Indiana. I now live and work in Milwaukee. I continue to provide private lessons both in person and online.My responsibilities include personal marketing strategies, maintaining a website, and practicing and performing my craft on a regular basis. I perform for a large variety of events, including but not limited to weddings, ceremonies, solo performances, ensemble performances, receptions, corporate events, music festivals, school convocations, clinics, etc. I also work one-on-one and in small group settings with musicians to help them further develop and refine their skills. MFSOM's goal is to provide NE Wisconsin with diverse opportunities for the creation and enjoyment of music at a high level. As the High Brass Specialist, my role was to coach the trumpet and horn students at Lapel Middle School. I led sectionals, helped monitor rehearsals, and provided private lessons to both middle school and high school students.

Performing as the lead trumpet player for the award-winning Norwell HS Show Choirs. I work with their professional band members, instructors, and the students to create high-caliber shows for entertainment, education, and local and national competitions. I also arrange music for the professional back up band to use as band features at performances.

I work with the Muncie Symphony Orchestra to help facilitate the Together in Music project. My duties include coordinating events, recruiting staff for outreach events, managing payroll for TiM employees, data collection for TiM, and supervising TiM events. More specifically, my duties include:-Coordinate project planning and implementation, including assessing needs, setting goals and objectives-Actively promote the Muncie Symphony Orchestra and it’s programs to area organizations, constituents and audiences-Identify key project components and develop the educational program, including content for musical workshops, clinics and marketing materials.-Participate in project budget planning and monitoring-Establish project work plan and calendar of schedules for outreach visits-Monitor, review and evaluate project progress-Serve as a liaison between MSO’s Executive Director and partner organizations.-Perform research, analyze information, provide documentation and prepare weekly reports related to the project.-Prepare records of project activities, monitor record keeping and file maintenance for the project-Oversee and ensure the timely processing and delivery of the required materials.-Verify and analyze the accuracy of all data and information used and resolve any discrepancies or problems-Serve as liaison for the MSO, coordinate project activities and exchange information-Other duties as assigned

I assisted the Muncie Symphony Orchestra in executing their Together in Music project. I assisted with various educational activities serving children as young as 1 through adults. I assisted with setup at events, collecting and reporting data, and project planning. I created and executed educational presentations in schools for Elementary-aged students from underserved communities across Delaware County. I also performed in solo and small chamber ensembles for the community. After serving as a TiM Staff Member for several years, I accepted the position of TiM Project Manager / MSO Education Coordinator.
