I produced supplementary written content for a significant portion of the course, including the course glossary, FAQs and narratives. I worked with faculty and staff to produce a free, open course which covers the basics of personal finance.

I worked at Adventure Outfitters, a specialty outdoor retail store in Hadley, Massachusetts, for thirteen years. For seven of those years, I was the manager, overseeing five to seven staff and working directly with the owner to improve customer service. I trained sales staff, acted as a buyer for clothing and hard goods, mediated conflicts between staff, kept track of inventory, communicated daily with sales reps and customers on the phone and via email, and generally worked hard to make the staff the most knowledgeable around and the store a pleasant place to work and shop. The combined efforts of all of our staff, under my leadership, was rewarded by many “Best Of” awards in the Valley Advocate over the years. I eventually resigned from my management position and moved to a part time supervisory position in order to work on my writing.
