Second placement as a Project Management Trainee, working with the architectural project team responsible for the 658-million-dollar Sydney Children’s Hospital and Children’s Comprehensive Cancer Centre redevelopment.During this placement I continued to gain invaluable experience in the construction industry, instead from an architectural perspective.My primary responsibilities while at BLP included:- Running weekly reports to track BLP's financial health, resourcing, revenue forecasts and project timesheets.- Managing all incoming and outgoing documents and drawings through Aconex.- Communicating with project architects to coordinate drawings.- Maintaining an accurate register of all architectural drawings.- Ensuring all in-use drawings remain up to date.- Attending weekly team meetings.- Covering for and assisting with studio coordinator and reception tasks. - Attending site visits to both Sydney Children's Hospitals (Randwick and Westmead), and St. Vincents Hospital.

First placement as a Project Management Trainee in the Project Delivery Team at Sydney Metro's Central Station Main Works, a team responsible for the 955-million-dollar redevelopment of Australia's largest railway station.Throughout my time at Sydney Metro I acquired a broad range of knowledge and experience, working closely with engineers of various disciplines. I gained experience interfacing with contractor Laing O'Rourke and their respective subcontractors, as well as handover clients Sydney Trains and Metro Trains Sydney.A list of my routine responsibilities included:- Conducting daily site walks to monitor progress and identify and escalate issues.- Maintaining accurate site records (daily site diary and photos).- Identifying, recording and monitoring defects on site.- Working and communicating with contractors through all stages of the defect rectification process.- Working with a safety mindset, reporting safety concerns to an engineer/manager.- Contributing to quality assurance through defect identification and close-out.- Identifying issues with reference to design / contractual requirements.- Using Teambinder to locate design / relevant project documentation.- Attending meetings on safety, quality, interface, and program.- Presenting dashboards in delivery team meetings.- Presenting personal observations in construction meetings.- Handover of responsibilities to succeeding trainee.
