Founded a small landscaping company that serves the outlying foothill neighborhoods of Boulder with wildfire mitigation, hardscape construction, and regular maintenance services. My favorite project to date is managing 30 acres of pine forest to slow the spread of parasitic mistletoe.

Researched and wrote a report detailing the challenges encountered by the University of Colorado’s first large scale graywater system. The 18-page report highlights the key lessons learned from the experience and was supported by expert interviews, regulatory analysis and technical system review.

In a year long partnership with CDPHE I worked on a graduate student team to research and build a guide that offered a comprehensive explanation of street-scale green infrastructure and how Colorado communities of any size can incorporate it.

As a member of the toxicology emergency response program, I conducted environmental sampling and data collection in emergency situations. This involves investigations to identify, abate, or eliminate sources of pollutants and hazards that are affecting clean up operations and the surrounding population, with an emphasis on rapid deployment. Entailed in my duties were synthesizing, studying, reporting, and taking action based on data derived from measurements and observations of air, water, soil and other sources.

As a part time tutor for the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program at Midway High School I led groups of students in collaborating to solve their problems in subject ranging from chemistry to algebra to history.

I was part of a novel program that allows current Baylor students to intern with ACS from their own campus. The core focus of the internship was to help the Committee for Environmental Improvement find and distribute the most effective environmental education materials to the interested public. The internship was largely self lead and involved working with fellow interns to divide assignments and establish new objectives to further our goals. We presented a poster of our findings at the Southwest Regional ACS Meeting.

At Baylor I assisted in a one of my professor's labs, helping with ongoing research projects and performing a variety of tasks, such as running lipid per oxidation assays or spawning fish.

I was a paid intern for the summer of 2013 at SynTech where I worked in the avian toxicology department. I received GLP training and was responsible for the daily care of mallards, quail, and canaries. I also assisted in LD50, LC50, and reproduction studies. This entailed taking part in the dosing, feeding, observing, and necropsy of the specimens.
