Community Engagement Consultant
Current
Director Representing The Bc Chamber Of Commerce
Pleased to represent the BC Chamber of Commerce as a volunteer director on the Canadian Chamber of Commerce Board. The Canadian Chamber helps build the businesses that support our families, our communities and our country. We do this by influencing government policy, by providing the services your business needs and by connecting you to information you can use, to opportunities and to a network of local chambers, businesses and decision-makers and peers from across the country, in every sector of the economy and at all levels of government, as well as internationally. We are unapologetic in our support for business and the vital role it plays in building and sustaining our great nation. Why join the Canadian Chamber of Commerce? Because business matters.
Governor Of The Bc Chamber Of Commerce
The BC Chamber of Commerce is the largest and most broadly-based business organization in B.C. Representing more than 125 Chambers of Commerce and Boards of Trade, and 36,000 businesses of every size, sector and region of the province, the BC Chamber is truly the voice of business in B.C.In applying as a Director for the Board of Directors, my goal was to volunteer my time for an organization I believe in. Much like the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce, I see the importance of the Chamber and their role to engage with their membership to understand their needs and to work collaboratively to speak to government and other associations to make good things happen for the betterment of business and community. It is my desire to bring my skills in the areas of marketing, communication, and governance to help strengthen the BC Chamber of Commerce as it seeks to be a leader in the areas of advocacy and programs for members.
Past President Of The Board Of Directors
The Kamloops Chamber of Commerce is over 125 years old, and still today is an effective, innovative, and influential organization representing over 300 local businesses ranging from small to major industry players. The Chamber is incredibly strong in its advocacy role for businesses to government and has developed many policies which have improved the lives for many ie: Tax Free Savings Accounts, the 10 Year Passport, and other policies which started as ideas from the membership and were taken to that next level. The Chamber also provides money saving benefits to its members, incredible networking opportunities, and many different seminars to help businesses learn and grow.I joined the Board of Directors initially because I wanted to find out about the organization and bring my skills in marketing and communications to the team. During my 8 years with the organization, I was honoured to take on the roles of Secretary, Treasurer, 2nd Vice President, 1st Vice President, President, and Past President. As President of the Board, my goal was focused on engagement. Engagement with our membership, with all levels of government, and as a team of Directors. My belief is if you engage with people you will learn more about them and they'll learn more about you, that's when the magic can happen. It's all about communication and getting on the same page. We implemented many engaging initiatives which helped us as an organization to do a better job for our membership. As Past President, BC Chamber of Commerce Governor, and past Director of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce Board, I worked to provide advice, support, and expertise to the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. I use my strength in advocacy, marketing, communication, and governance to provide direction and influence. I am very proud to have served in a volunteer capacity as a part of these esteemed business organizations.
