Wind Tunnel Calibration Unit – Aug 2021 - Apr 2022• Designed & built a small portable closed-loop wind tunnel made of 3D printed parts, clear acrylic, & aluminum sheets for use as a calibration unit for a liquid water content probe• Integrated a heater & humidifier to produce heat and humidity ranges to simulate the environment the probe will be exposed to• Used an AC to DC power supply to control the fan’s wind speed by manipulating the fans voltage, and a variac to control the heater’s voltages to manipulate temperature• Measured wind speeds of 2-10m/s using a pitot static probe, pressure transducer, and a low-cost environmental measurement station board to output velocity, temperature, and humidity dataAutonomous Robot – April 2021• Built a 6x6 inch robot with a trapdoor to transport a block to the correct location using distance sensors, an RGB sensor, and hall effect sensor to detect magnets in the blocks• Created code for robot to recognize a block placed on the trap door using a distance sensor, determine the color location the block needs to go to using an RGB sensor, determine the presence of a magnet in the block using a hall effect sensor, sound a buzzer if one was present, and light up LEDs certain colors when ready and to match the scanned block when it read the blocksMoving Train Code – April 2019• Created code on MATLAB to model a train to run a course of 10m & stop before reaching 12m• Optimized through range of values for train length, height, radius, and speed to go the fasted through the given distance and outputted a graph for acceleration and velocity over a distance and time to determine if train met the conditionsPing-pong Ball Launcher – December 2018• Built a robot-like launcher out of make-block parts and a DC motor• Created code in Arduino for launcher to be able to recognize the layout of the holes & self-adjust its angle and placement to hit the targeted hole• 6 out of 7 balls accurately landed in its intended target
