Alejandro Castro-Alfaro was born in San José, Costa Rica. This MBA from INCAE Business School specializes in marketing and sustainable development with experience in different industries (Tourism, Agro-Business, Social Entrepreneurship). His passion for the environment and responsible business drove him to co-lead the “I Dare You To Plant A Tree” campaign. This initiative resulted in the planting of over 6,300,000 trees in Costa Rica in 2007, and was one of the largest private-public initiatives ever carried out in the country for this matter. Mr. Castro Founded the INCAE MBA Oath Club – the first graduate level business ethics club in Latin America. This ground breaking club is designed to encourage MBA graduates to sign the MBA Oath and help them live the oath during their MBA career. Alejandro worked in Colombia as a social business Senior Consultant for Grameen Caldas positively impacting vulnerable population. After Colombia Alejandro headed to Costa Rica worked on his family business (public transportation and tourism) and a startup. In 2014 the Minister of Tourism of Costa Rica appointed him as the youngest Deputy Manager and Marketing Director of the Tourism Board (ICT). During is time at ICT Alejandro was part of the airline attraction program, worked on the first meeting tourism strategy (which included building the first Convention Center of the country) and lead the destination marketing of the country. In 2018 Alejandro briefly worked as Marketing and Sales manager for the new Costa Rican convention center. That same year Alejandro started his consulting practice and since then has lead projects in tourism, natural cosmetics, entrepreneurship, digital marketing, strategy and sales.
