As Director of Software Engineering my primary focus is the management of a team responsible for system’s migration from our various legacy systems to our Salesforce platform, for both US and Europe regions. In this role I manage a team of 35+ professionals in roles like project management, business analysts, Informatica/Salesforce/SQL developers and QA analysts, residing both on-site and off-shore, which tasks are the analysis of source systems, analysis of gap functionality/capability of the Salesforce platform, develop of routines to move the data and validation of migrated data.Additionally, my responsibilities include the lead of a team in charge of creating dashboards and reports to be used by internal users as well as external clients.Among others, my main responsibilities are:· Direct and manage the development and implementation of the Data Management and Data Analytics architecture, policies, practices and procedures· Direct and manage a team distributed in different regions in charge of migrating source systems into Salesforce.· Manage governance and delivery of accurate, reliable, easy to use, and timely business data for reporting, analytics and BI· Work effectively with Application Development, DevOps, Infrastructure and other teams as necessary to ensure that Data Management and Data Conversion activities are well coordinated, efficient and effective.· Work closely with business areas like Finance, Underwriting, Actuarial and Operations in order to effectively transform and convert the legacy systems to our Salesforce platform· Produce and manage the production of the Data Management/Data Analytics/Data Conversion knowledge base, data flows, and common taxonomy

On this role, I led the migration of the infrastructure in different datacenters to both Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS, combining PaaS and IaaS solutions to accomplish the most cost-effective approach. Additionally, I implemented an Infrastructure Dashboard running on Power BI showing key metrics utilized as measurements against SLA / OLA, together with Azure and AWS costs and overall budget for my department, centralizing in one view operational metrics of the systems I was responsible and the different costs associated with that.Another achievement was the implementation of HADR SQL environments running in distributed Azure datacenters, providing a reliable foundation for core systems requiring low RTO/RPO with low or no manual interactions.My day to day activities are related to the management of diverse teams distributed across regions (Latin America, US and India), which supports SharePoint Online/On-Prem, Informatica Powercenter/Cloud, MuleSoft, PeopleSoft Financials/HR, Oracle, DB2, SQL Server On-Prem/Azure, Heroku, Web servers (JBoss/Apache) and Linux, among others. Also manage the various projects my teams were responsible for, together with its associated budget, which included forecasting to identify deviations and allocations/charge back to the different teams/countries. I also overseen the operations of the company's Infrastructure related to the core systems my team handled, prioritizing tasks and projects, balancing support and project tasks to ensure proper resource allocation.
