MPH Candidate at the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine, Department of Family & Preventative Medicine. 2023 graduate of The University of Utah with a B.S. in Clinical Psychology. Former Mexican National Team Member & NCAA Division 1 Student-Athlete. Aleksei (Lex) is an emerging figure in the spaces of Public Health, Harm Reduction, Anti-Drowning Advocacy, and Immigration Health Reform. With accumulated work-experiences in the Utah State Senate, Consulate of Mexico (SRE)-Secretary of Health, Utah Naloxone, Huntsman Cancer Foundation, and Huntsman Mental Health Institute, Lex Currently heads Kansas based 501c3 Non-Profit, "Project Zero", an organization aimed at ending the drowning epidemic which is the leading cause of death in children aged 1-4, and 2nd in children aged 5-14. Project Zero operates nationally in Kansas, Missouri, & Utah.Lex is employed as a Coordinator at Andy’s Utah Naloxone within the University of Utah Health, Department of Pediatrics where he manages weekly syringe exchange services, HepC/HIV exams, wound care, health referrals, and harm reduction outreach/research. On Mondays & Saturdays, Lex manages the “Ventanilla de Salud” clinic at the SRE Consulate of Mexico, Salt Lake City, where he attends to the latin immigrant populations of the mountain west sector of the United States. In clinic, Lex provides free chronic health screens, med-dental-vision referrals, federal & state program enrollments, and preventative health education, while reporting to the Mexican Secretary of Health in Mexico City, MX. Lex is dedicated to improving health outcomes and advancing health equity. He is currently pursuing a Master’s of Public Health at the University of Utah and plans to continue his education with Medical and Law School to strengthen his ability to navigate and impact the intersection of Public Health, Medicine, and Policy Reform.
