I have over 20 years of experience designing and building in excess of 500 projects with budgets ranging from £50k to £30m for the healthcare, educational, commercial and residential sectors in England, Spain and Italy. As an accredited RIBA Client Advisor I believe in sharing knowledge and best practice and whenever possible I attend and/or present some of my projects at conferences, conventions, colleges and universities. I have recently published my first book “Design & Meditation”. An almost fatal motorbike crash in 1994, resulted in me spending 6 months in and out of a hospital bed, in a miserable, noisy, clinical environment. Upon full recovery, it became my mission to try to improve building environments for the people that use them. That's why, ACA+I’s mission is to create healthier and happier healing, learning, working or living experiences for everybody. With professional memberships with RIBA, MAPM and RMaPs I lead teams of up to 20 people learning from one another. My passion to define the brief and develop concept designs is carried forward at every stage to ensure continuity and quality of detail design.Integrity, trust and transparency are amongst my core values to build long lasting Client relationships and to deliver quality design using materials innovatively whilst respecting the local vernacular.Speaking 3 languages, I find it especially important to be able to communicate clearly and use 3 dimensional technologies to translate client requirements into a design accessible to a much wider audience.As the Principal of Alessandro Caruso Architecture and Interiors I am responsible for the design, coordination and management of projects working in conjunction with multidisciplinary project teams. I am also responsible for the management strategy and organic business development of the practice developing and implementing strategies that enhance the practice profile and qualifications to secure new work, refine the practice reputation and expand the practice influence in the areas of specialism offered.
