About Alex Abbott

An urban planner by training with a passion for sports and health that has led me down a path of working in property development linked with this agenda.Experience developed in planning consultancy both in the UK and overseas, alongside a good few years at Sport England managing the planning function and partnership development led me naturally to a career at Decathlon where i have been involved in a wide range of projects mostly focussed on strategic property planning and development. Outside of work I am hanging on to my love for extreme sports of kitesurfing, climbing, mountain biking, long distance trail running and anything else that will challenge and excite me. I have been competing in long distance (Ironman) triathlons for the past 10 years or so with an ambition to qualify for the world champs in Hawaii in my 50th year.
