We worked to come up with coping skills to help control their negative behaviors, and practiced them on a day-to-day basis. I was trained in SPA (Safe-Positive Approaches), a form of physical holds to keep children and others safe during critically dangerous situations.

Initially acted as a camp counselor and youth leader, instructing youth volunteers in activities to better their communities. These activities included, but are not limited to: feeding the homeless, preparing supplies for children of a low SES, packaging groceries at a food bank, and spending time in elderly communities. After several years working, I acted as the Summer Camp director to coordinate with various non-profit agencies and resources to help expand volunteering opportunities for both youth volunteers as well as camp counselors.
