Managing a team of communications staff working on Pembina's policy work around industrial decarbonization - including reducing emissions from Canada's oil and gas and electricity production.

The Pembina Institute is a non-profit think tank that advocates for strong, effective policies to support Canada's clean energy transition. I work with Pembina staff to ensure their research and analysis reaches policymakers, business leaders and the wider public. Primary areas of focus include Canada's federal and provincial carbon tax systems, decarbonisation of the oilsands, development of policy on a net-zero electricity grid, methane reduction strategies and regulation, and other issues related to the implementation of Canada's international climate commitments.

Alongside a team of analysts based around the region, I worked to keep clients informed of political developments affecting their businesses across the Asia Pacific. Our reports helped them to understand the nature of political risk and how it applies to them - from new governments elected to the breakout of protests; regulatory policy changes to terrorist threats. This role included the scheduling, fact-checking and copy editing of analysts' work, as well as authoring a number of reports on social, regulatory and political developments affecting business in the region.

I worked with Professor Khong Yuen Foong, Vice Dean and Li Ka Shing Professor in Political Science. My research focus was United States - Asia relations, looking at current international relations debates, especially the global power shift from West to East, and implications for ASEAN and the East Asia region. I also worked with Professor Khong on research for his project entitled "The American Tributary System", which compares the ancient Chinese tributary model with post-1945 US foreign relations.

I studied full-time for an MSc in International Relations at the renowned think tank and graduate school, RSIS, at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. As part of my scholarship I also worked within RSIS's Regional Security Architecture Programme as a part-time Research Assistant throughout my studies.

I worked on BBC Radio 4's flagship daily consumer affairs programme, where, as an Assistant Producer and later as a Producer it was my responsibility to either set up or oversee the creation of all the programme's content as well as manage the broadcast of the programme live in studio. This work often included conducting long-term investigative journalism projects. In 2016, BBC Radio 4 was listened to by 11.5 million adults in the UK each week.

Woman's Hour is BBC Radio 4's flagship live daily programme giving a female perspective on current affairs. It has a weekly listenership of approximately 5 million UK adults. As Assistant Producer I worked in the live studio to output the programme, and also set up interviewees and guests for discussion items. I also worked as a reporter, recording material on location and making radio packages for broadcast.

Produced the mid-morning phone-in and Drive programmes, and contributed news material as a reporter.

Producing the afternoon programme at BBC Radio Manchester and, as a reporter, contributing material to Breakfast and Drive programmes.
