Teaching Program:-Lead Instructor for an introductory level research based laboratory course in Genomics: Dynamic Genome course (Biology 20).-Collaborate with work with Principal Investigators to adapt research projects in order to test and develop new course modules. -Recruit, train, and manage a small team of paid undergraduate teaching assistants.-Guide and direct graduate teaching assistants for the course.-Guide and direct the Laboratory Technician to order and prepare all necessary materials and reagents needed for all sections of the course. -Develop assessment (quizzes, homework problems) and study guides, mock-midterms, practice exams/quizzes and manage student records.-Maintain regular office hours and records for attendance, grades, and associated class records. -Development, maintain, and implement the electronic laboratory notebooks.*27 sections of up to 24 students taught.Summer Research Program:-Recruit and supervise undergraduate research interns during an immersive 9-week program.-Provide guidance to interns in the laboratory.-Serve as project coordinator on agribusiness/biotech student projects in collaboration with faculty from the Keck Graduate Institute.-Provide editorial advise and students on their project oral and poster presentations.*Four cohorts of 10, 24, 27, and 29 students.Community Outreach:-Participate in the planning, preparation, and execution of community outreach programs for K-14 in the form of laboratory workshops, exposition, and presentations. -Faculty advisor for a service-based student organization (Dynamic Genome Outreach Group).-Manage the program's social media presence as well as develop communications.

Botany & Plant Sciences Department/Genomics-Solid organizational and administrative skills as a manager of daily operations for a research lab that focuses on Transposable Elements (Wessler Research Laboratory) in a modern, open-lab, Genomics facility as well as the instructional laboratory for the HHMI Dynamic Genome course in the Neil A Campbell Science Learning Laboratory. -Design and implement effective standard operating procedures and other lab safety measures. -Foster relationships with vendors and other departments.-Maintain accurate records, assign priorities, research information, and track details.-Assist the instructional team. Help students in the teaching lab with their experiments as well as guide the undergraduate research students with their projects.-Assist in the development, maintenance, and implementation of electronic laboratory notebooks.-Participate in the planning, preparation, and execution of outreach events (Highlander Day, Discover Day, Dynamic Genome Science Bootcamp) sponsored and/or hosted in our facilities in addition to other initiatives with local campus and community partners (EAOP, RUSD).

Biology Department, LAB PREP-Proven ability to follow and execute detailed protocols and procedures in a high-paced unit responsible for providing the technical support for the instructional laboratories for the Biology Department (lower and upper division). -Met deadlines to produce and provide class reagents and media for multiple lab sections.

-Implemented an after-school literacy curriculum for underrepresented (predominantly latino) fifth- and sixth- grade students in the Pomona Unified School District.-Administered student assessments and generated progress reports; frequently communicated with the parents (mostly in Spanish) and built a rapport with them.

-Analyzed legislation and other policy; Identified campus resources of potential interest to legislators.-Cultivate relationships with various members of other departments on campus and the local community. Participated and help coordinate various events on campus.-Conveyed the institution’s legislative, budgetary, and public service goals through fostering relationships with legislative staff and developing correspondence and reports that were used in our messaging; Coordinated and collaborated with other Government Affairs entities in Higher Ed.-Represented the institution by attending conferences, special events, and meetings on behalf of the department; participated in multiple weekly scheduled conference calls.

Chancellor's Registration (Student Fee) Advisory Committee-Proven capacity to perform with diplomatic tact; establishing a rapport and collegial relationships with a broad range of audiences by being the point of contact and facilitator for this committee and the multiple department/unit heads that were beneficiaries of these funds.-Provided budgetary recommendations to the Chancellor regarding this multi-million dollar source fund, which funds (fully or partially) various units on campus serving over 18,000 students.

Biology Department, Cardullo Lab-Studied the physiological role of egg-derived sperm activating peptides (SAPs) on Strongylocentrotus purpuratus sperm motility. -Research design and implementation: protocol design, data analysis.-Supervised undergraduate research assistants.Physiology Course Summer 2005, Marine Biology Laboratory, Woods Hole MA-Learned cutting-edge techniques in biochemistry, computation, and microscopy in a research intensive course.

Musculoskeletal Disease Center-Studied the genetic determinants in mice that play a pivotal role in determining phenotypic differences such as bone breaking strength and soft-tissue regenration (determined from three-point bending experiments), bone density, and mineral composition (measured by X-ray techniques).-Performed routine molecular biology techniques.
