Mr. Husker, that's what many of my friends and family call me. I work as the Asst. Director of Recruitment for the College of Journalism and Mass Communications at UNL am an Assistant Football Coach at Standing Bear High School. I Freelance as a DJ & Emcee for Weddings and Events while also doing freelance writing and media projects. I have a private pilot's license, write a Husker/College Football focused blog and have hosted multiple podcasts.Over the past 5+ years as Asst. Director of Recruitment for the College of Journalism and Mass Communications (CoJMC) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL), I have developed my strength in building connections and creating content that engages a variety of audiences. As a college recruiter, my job is essentially public relations for our program, generating an image to excite prospective students for their upcoming college careers. My experience designing engaging and active content for large-scale recruitment events to thousands of students will be crucial to success in this role. Through creative content and direct engagement with the students, I have created meaningful value and enrollment growth at CoJMC. Despite being the underdog on campus, with one of the smallest programs and thinnest budgets at the university, my recruitment efforts have led to the best yield percentages out of any college on campus for the past 3 recruitment cycles. By analyzing the data from each recruitment class, I continue to build and develop new creative communication strategies to engage with prospective students. Building various data-driven communication campaign pieces with video content, photos and inspiring copy has resulted in four straight years of student yield over 30% and over 15% growth in first-year student enrollment for our program each over the past three years -- all of which was shattered by my record breaking 27% growth in this year's recruitment class. I have also conducted over 300 media education workshops with more than 60 high schools and education partners across the midwest.I bring passion, leadership and a tremendous work ethic into every environment and I thrive when meeting new people.
