Designing and implementing persistent identifiers for special collections materials and descriptions. Managing the data in MARCO, the Bodleian’s manuscript and archival discovery service.

Managing the digitisation of the Hope Collection of around 120,000 16th–20th century prints. I am leading a project to digitise this collection: auditing, cataloguing and overseeing the scanning of the prints, cleaning and updating metadata, and ingesting the database into Ashmolean’s Collections Online.- Enhancing database records by identifying, designing and processing batch updates (using SQL and MS Access).- Performing data analysis using OpenRefine and Power Query on existing records.- Working with colleagues from a variety of different collections departmentsto enhance and enrich database records.- Creating, maintaining and updating digital assets, and regularly linking theseassets to the Ashmolean’s collections database.

Working at Early Modern Letters Online (EMLO), a collaboratively populated union catalogue of sixteenth-, seventeenth-, and eighteenth-century letters and the relationships between their writers, as part of the multidisciplinary research project 'Cultures of Knowledge'.- Creating detailed letter records and completing data entry for ingest into the union catalogue, with a high degree of accuracy, in preparation for publication online.- Maintaining and updating metadata using a web-based metadata-editing software to ensure that information is correct and authoritative.- Carrying out research into individuals and places in order to identify and authenticate the senders and recipients of letters, or in order to write and verify biographies of correspondents.- Proof-reading biographies with careful attention to detail.- Conducted a training session at the Bodleian Library in the use andpossibilities of archival metadata for Bodleian Student Editions.

Tutorial teaching for ‘History of Science’ for 14 students.- Communicated the course material to non-subject specialists in ways that were clear, accessible and engaging.- Heavy marking workload required good organization and working to deadlines.

Contributing to the provision of the Arts and Humanities Foundation Year, taking two seminar groups for the ‘Making History’ module.- Offered clearly communicated and high-quality seminar teaching on the Western world in the eighteenth to the twentieth centuries.

Taking 10 seminar groups for the ‘Disenchantment of Early Modern Europe’.- Used my own research to enhance the teaching of topics with focus on early modern visual cultures and contemporary print sources, including many woodcuts, engravings, portraits and topographical prints.
