• My doctorate focused on material architecture-cell interactions, microfluidics, and advancing tissue engineering.
• Incepted, prototyped, and scaled a now patent pending platform technology that bridges the resolution-scale gap between large vessels and microvasculature and allows for rapid perfusion (~15 minutes) in arbitrarily.
• Other projects include - investigating role of cellular adhesion proteins and mechanical perturbations in vasculogenesis (F31 Fellowship), microfluidic droplet generator design, developing a large-scale fluid shear.
• Mentored PhD students and Postdocs while managing team of 4 post docs and PhD students to maintain and upgrade five multi-photon, confocal, and epifluorescent microscopes for 25+ lab members

Founded lab with former postdoc in Bob Langer and Michael J. Cima’s labs at MIT. I was the first employee – tasked with procurement of necessary equipment and materials. The main task was to accelerate design iterations for micro-implantable devices to optimize for phase I and II clinical trials. Managed team of three techs and co-op students across 4.

• Managed team of four for consulting project with major pharmaceutical company o Designed and hand built a microfluidic injecting calorimeter prototype able to detect sub-uW thermogenesis from adherent mammalian cells
• Redesigned and CNC prototype micro implantable device for precision cancer diagnostics in vivo, which can test entire drug panels in a single tumor

Managed portable panel project that included 100 10x8 foot panels for a facility that handles bison and elk

Fort Pierre, SD

• Completed 4.5 mile fence contract one of Ted Turner’s bison ranches
• Responsibilities included proper construction, logistics of equipment and supplies, and supervision of a three-man crew
• All fences were built as specified and passed final inspection for full payment
• Also worked full time on the fence line in the summers from 2000-2005 while growing up on a 25,000 acre bison ranch in western South Dakota
