Responsible for the design, integration, and manufacturing of aerodynamic components for a Formula SAE racecar, as well as the development of testing plans and analysis tools to evaluate designs.2018 - Developed new front and rear wing endplate designs as well as a new undertray design and a revised front wing profiles resulting in a 12% increase in downforce, 15% decrease in system weight and improved aerodynamic balance.- Collaborated with suspension team to develop innovative un-sprung aerodynamics mounting.2019- Complete front wing redesign to better take advantage of un-sprung system along with minor rear wing tweaks resulting in further improvements to aerodynamic balance as well as improved yaw stability and a 40% increase in radiator flow rate.2022- New undertray and sidepod design as well as manufacturing changes resulting in a total downforce increase of 17%, a 16% decrease in total system weight, and a further 20% increase in radiator flow.- performed wind tunnel testing on current car design and developed new CFD methodology using STAR CCM to bring CFD results to within 5% of the measured wind tunnel values as well as almost one to one correlation between CFD and on track flow visualization.
