Along with team members who are medical school students and staff at Indiana University and a university in Kenya, this research experience includes sifting through articles relating to the intersection between food insecurity and cancer around the world. We are developing a scoping review that determines what role food access has on the effectiveness of cancer treatment, prevention, and outcomes.

- Worked on the Superfluid Dx team in the Biological Pathways group. Superfluid Dx is developing a blood test for Alzheimer's Disease utilizing cell-free RNA which will be a less invasive way to determine current or risk of Alzheimer's diagnosis.- On my team, I focused on the biological implications that correspond to the difference in genetic regulation between their Alzheimer's and non-cognitively impaired patient data. I compared the patient data trends with common trends found in genetic databases for Alzheimer's research to determine the consistency of our data. - I collaborated with students in data science-related majors to interpret their statistical and programmatic graphs and datasets. I commonly translated complex biological pathways into easy-to-digest definitions so that everyone was on the same page.- Developed a poster and three-minute thesis for the Data Mine poster symposium.

I collaborated as an undergraduate researcher in a team of Material Science Engineering graduate students to synthesize nanoparticles, isolate proteins of Cyclospora Cayetanensis, and identify aptamers. I researched and tested different materials that could be used to make the mechanism of the paper test work with higher colorimetric change and lower costs.

I worked in teams to learn about the structure of the Coronavirus and used the Fold-it protein folding program to rearrange my inhibitor. I presented my findings at research conferences and wrote a literature review.
