These solutions are developed and implemented by a project services group who, on deployment of the solution, handover to a customer services group.The CFO role was part of the ELT and partnered with CEO and Board to shape the company's strategy and operational framework to deliver technology and managed services solutions to SMEs, particularly after the acqusition of the Logic Plus technology & managed services business in Adelaide in early 2022. Core to the role was the need to bring a strategic focus – particularly in respect of SaaS metrics including MRR and Churn - to management of the relationship with PE Shareholders, drive process improvement and evaluate M&A opportunities.The role also encompassed the technology procurement function and managment of the team responsible for the company's internal IT infrastucture. This team reported to the CFO in order that internal project work could be properly costed and given commercial objectives around efficiency.Key achievements included the identification of savings opportunities of > $200k p.a. as well as the introduction of formal reforecasting processes to enable timely decision making.As part of a cost reduction program and reassessment of strategy, the role was one of a number to be restuctured and/or made redundant. The role's responsibilities were absorbed into the Company Secretary/Head of Revenue role. -
Chief Financial OfficerEntyr Limited Mar 2021 - May 2022Stapylton, Queensland, AuEntyr is a leader in the circular economy, recycling car and truck tyres to make diesel fuel substitutes and feedstock for the Asphalt industry.As part of the executive leadership team (which includes two executive directors), the role was responsible for the management of Entyr's Finance, IT and Human Resources functions. As Entyr (Pearl Global Limited when I joined) progressed its transition from R&D to commercial operations, the role focussed on building relationships with commercial partners and financiers whose like-minded approach to the circular economy and sustainable, environmentally friendly business activity would provide the catalyst for continued growth. This included overseeing the collection of operational data on the volume of tyres collected and processed for the purposes of reporting to Queensland government agencies responsible for monitoring compliance with environmental legislation.Key achievements included identification of costs saving worth > $300k p.a. as well as working closely with the Board and advisors/brokers on capital raisings. I also led the process of tax consolidation, as well as (i) consolidation of all group entities into Xero, and (ii) implementation of the Opmetrix product to automate front end data collection for used tyres (quantities and types, for reporting to the Federal Government). The introduction of Opmetrix was to cater for the three fold increase in tyre collections that were expected as the company moved to bolster revenue as it moved from 2022 into 2023.Entyr's suite of financial software and applications included Dext and Fathom.Entyr's operations are based solely in Queensland and despite the initial intention to relocate my family (from NSW to Qld), this became impossible due to illness in my extended family and so I moved back to NSW. -

The Load audit component of the role was integral to ensuring the integrity of the supply chain between distribution centres and Supermarkets, BigW and liquor outlets (BWS and Dan Murphys). The stocktake component of the role was primarily responsible for ensuring the accuracy of stores' inventory. Both roles worked closely with in-store managers and staff, with involvement from risk, finance and operational staff in head office. -
