About Alex Power

My 20 years in HR leadership has been rewarding and diverse, working closely with executive teams, Boards and P&L leaders to drive growth and business innovation through People excellence. What unites my experience across varied sectors and geographies has been my ability to assess an organisation’s strengths and weaknesses and redefine its future, through inside-out HR transformation and executive partnering – and significant capability uplift. I am resilient in ‘making things happen’, and crucially manage the risks inherent in change and movement from the status quo. From national roles at Woolworths, to business-critical people and culture transformations with Wattyl, General Pants Co. and Bupa, I have combined my knack for relationship building with strategic foresight and a practical business mind-set to evolve businesses into the future.I’m genuinely interested in people, their careers and their goals. With a lifelong interest in psychology and how that can be leveraged in business transformation, my strength has been in influencing and building excitement for change encouraging people to think differently, while maintaining commercial focus and forward momentum.Beyond this, I apply knowledge of motivational and behavioural theory to build leadership capability and commercial literacy of HR teams, creating People capabilities primed to innovate and evaluate different perspectives in dynamic and constantly shifting business environments.
