About Alex Rees
My story so far includes roles in professional dance, the fitness industry (training and education), management and sales. Acquiring a wide range of skills has shown me that most skillsets are transferrable and interchangeable: dance training building a confident platform for sales, training and education gleaning invaluable insights into people management. Building a variety of skills has certainly taught me to "learn, recycle, build and fear nothing" My background has given me the opportunity to experience various working environments, some challenging, but ultimately all have been gratifying. Freelancer, company director, team member and team manager are all roles I've embraced. Working in single and multiple locations, managing the smallest and largest beauty accounts, sociable and unsociable hours have all stretched and developed my abilities. I have even worked in a frantically busy environment where most of my clients didn't speak English. My theatrical background came in VERY handy there! More recently in 2017 I moved to a role with Givenchy as a fragrance brand manager operating several central London sites and in 2022 moved to museum retail at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London where I currently work as a supervisor. Saatchi and Saatchi may have called it 'a nice cafe with a Museum attached', but to me it's more a Museum with the best job in the world attached!
