Technology makes everything possible: from curing previously deadly illnesses to self-driving cars, and even making them fly. Every automation problem in the enterprise world – my main specialty to date, has a precise technical solution. Tens of social networks, hundreds of APIs, IoT devices, Cloud hosting, let alone incompatible mobile OSes don't make things easy. The monumental business process and regulation complexity can be daunting. Whether I am at the very start of a project – to do it right from day one, or helping someone, when the performance and usability issues pile up, big and little everyday technical inventions (and nothing else) save the day. There are times to use existing tools and frameworks according to the manual, situations to apply them unconventionally, and cases to throw them away to build a simpler more elegant module of a big machine.I made building those perfectly running well-oiled machines routine, developing the precise Px100 (Productivity x100) platform. I could seek investors to challenge Oracle and Salesforce. That wasn’t my childhood dream. There is a point in everyone’s career, when dreams come within reach - using the expertise you’ve gained.The world outside enterprise IT needs a post-Internet network free of spammers and infomercial bots, with search delivering only one thing: truth. We are on the verge of building the new computers and post-UNIX OSes, no longer burdened by 1970s concepts like “block device” drivers and RAM vs. HDD dilemma – essentially infinite always-on distributed RAM and CPU grids offered natively. We can analyze the massive social network data to improve one’s quality of life: whether at work or personal - rather than push ads. The mankind needs to fully model the human brain, which with advanced prosthetics will one day offer immortality - beats applying ML to stock market gambling. We need to offer advanced VR and AR to surgeons, drug researchers, and in other critical fields - beyond FPS games. While many of such applications require never before built hardware like nano-bots to fight viruses and unclog arteries, a lot can be done with the software alone e.g. Tesla cars getting physically faster after downloading a software update. Whether I’ll join a team focused on that tech and enjoy learning from people smarter than me, or continue solving pressing enterprise IT problems for living, this is what I want to do with the rest of my life – being paid for it or open-source doesn’t matter.
