Alex Root serves as Director of Acquisitions at Carson Equities where he oversees new multifamily acquisition opportunities throughout the Midwest and Southeast. Prior to joining Carson Equities, Alex was the Director of Real Estate at Elia Group and previously worked at Bedrock Detroit, The Habitat Company (Chicago, IL), and Marquette Companies (IL). Alex has worked on development deals in Detroit totaling over $1 billion in total investment and over 1,000 multifamily units. During his time at The Habitat Company, Alex oversaw the completion of approximately $390 million in multifamily transactions, including $175 million in acquisitions, $125 million in dispositions, and $90 million in refinancing activity. At Marquette Companies, Alex was part of a team that completed more than $800 million in multifamily transactions, including $250 million in development, $270 million in acquisitions, and $250 million in dispositions. Overall, Alex has 13 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. Alex graduated from the Farmer School of Business at Miami University with a degree in Finance.
