I joined Squires in April 2021 at the Cobham branch.This was my first time being a manager. With the backing of the centre manager and plant manager, I excelled and transformed the bedding area making it how I wanted it. Throughout the 2 and a bit years there, I went through each category in the plant area to make a feature out of it to show an example of how versatile plants can be wherever they are.This was recognised on many occasions, including being nominated for best display.

I joined Hilliers Garden Centres as part of their takeover from Wyevale.My main role would be to assist the Plant Manager as well as helping on tills. I struggled to get to grips with the company. Some things they did , I didn’t agree with so my time with them was short.

After impressing in the first 9 months, I was promoted to Plant Expert. I had full trust from my manager to succeed. She gave me lots of opportunities for experience in management. From running stores, running the centres social media and being sent to assist at the flagship centres.In early 2019, i also completed my forklift licence.Unfortunately, Wyevale came to a crashing end, with the Dorking store being one of the last to be sold.

I joined the Garden Centre trade at 18, joining my local centre, Wyevale. Initially on a part time basis, I soon went full time after loving my first few months. I was then given the opportunity to run the social media for the centre. I took this under my wing and succeeded on many posts , sometimes achieving the top interactions in the company.My main duties were watering, plant maintenance, offloading deliveries and tills.
