I'm a second year Master's student at UCSD, studying Computer Science and specializing in Human-Computer Interaction. I stand at a very unique position where my technical understanding encompasses both high-level designs, which dictate general usability, operational contexts and user needs; and system-level implementation, which dictate how a system should carry out its functionalities. After graduation, my ultimate goal is to use the dual skills of high-level design and system-level implementation and make technology more accessible to everyone, especially to people with disabilities. Notably, accessible anything is often just "well-designed" anything, so that is where the challenge lies: redesigning (or creating from scratch!) nontrivial technology to be more usable and better designed is difficult, as seen with all the technology people use today. So that is where I am now: I'm searching for opportunities where I can utilize my dual skills and create improved technological designs--designs that are made to be more universally accessible. If you share these interests, I'd love to chat!

Instructional AssistantUc San Diego Sep 2022 - PresentSan Diego, California, United StatesI am working as a Teaching Assistant during my Master's program. I have TA'd for CSE course Interaction Design and COGS course Design@Large.For Interaction Design, I lead 3 weekly discussion sections of 20 undergraduates each to collaborate on Interaction Design projects. Additionally, I used a combination of web programming (HTML and Javascript) and Python programming to convert existing assignments into ones that could autograded in PrairieLearn. For Design@Large, I marked attendance and facilitated discussion among the students, for the speaker series on: AI for creativity, Urban Designs from South Korea. For Prototyping, I am in charge of communication with the students: ensuring assignments are released on time, announcements are released on time, responses are timely and useful, and generally ensuring students have the information they need to succeed. Additionally, I manage a team of undergrad Instructional Assistants with grading tasks. All Courses TA'd for: Interaction Design (Fall 2022), Design@Large (Winter 2023), Design@Large (Spring 2023), Interaction Design (Fall 2023), Prototyping (Winter 2024) -
Computer Science InternPacific Science & Engineering Group, Inc. Jun 2023 - Sep 2023San Diego, California, United StatesAt PSE, my role was unique in the fact I was a Computer Science-based intern in a company of Human Factors Engineers and Cognitive Scientists. My role was to look through the lens of Computer Science while examining an existing design, to identify or fill the gap that lives between PSE's vision and what was ultimately developed.More specifically, I worked with a PSE team who had made design decisions on a system that had those existing gaps, to understand the original operational need and what situations users would be using the system in. Once I had that understanding, I swapped my framework to a Computer Science perspective and dove deep into the current implementation to identify exactly what needed to change in order to realize PSE's original vision, before implementing such changes. -
Engineer InternInnocaption Jun 2021 - Sep 2021Irvine, California, United StatesI was an intern for InnoCaption, a startup that provides free phone captioning services for the deaf and hard of hearing community.I researched and prototyped a Text-to-Speech engine and developed a server to manage client access to said engine with Python (sometimes the deaf and hard of hearing have trouble verbally enunciating clearly enough for automated phone systems, so the TTS engine would aid them in this regard).Full InnoCaption project list: TTS engine, server for TTS engine, webscraper, spellcheck system, automated website testing -
Undergraduate Research AssistantUc Irvine Jan 2021 - Mar 2021Irvine, California, United StatesI assisted with an eSports research study examining the effect of stressful gameplay events on players (ie: the death of the player, the death of the player's teammates, loss of key buildings on the game field, etc).I collaborated with the researchers to developed data extraction and cleaning tools, to allow them to easily pull relevant information from the biometric data recorded from players. -
