I am a pre-pharmacy student at the University of Kentucky that was recently accepted into the University of Kentucky's College of Pharmacy to begin pursuing my PharmD in the Fall of 2024. Since January of 2022, I have been employed at two Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy sites and am fortunate enough to work on teams specializing in areas including HIV, Hepatitis C, transplant, and oncology. Additionally, I have gained further experience through shadowing at various UK Healthcare sites, to expand my range of knowledge within the healthcare and pharmacy industry.In March of 2022, I was offered the Singletary Scholar award, the University of Kentucky's most prestigious and selective four-year award. The Singletary program reinforces principles of striving to be a leader in academic, personal, and professional settings. These principles were strengthened through my membership in national service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega. During my freshman year, I completed over 200 hours of community service, leadership development, and fellowship events. I was grateful enough to receive 15 awards within the organization. During my sophomore year, it is my pleasure to serve in a Vice Presidential position, where I aim to grow membership and connect students to our principles of leadership and service.I am pleased to further my on-campus involvement through my internship in the chemistry department and assist with teaching general chemistry in lectures alongside a former professor of mine, Dr. Kim Woodrum. She made my experience in a difficult class quite enjoyable, and I hope to provide that same gift to other students who share a passion for chemistry.As an active member within the Lewis Honors College, I am grateful to work within the Community of Scholars as a Resident Advisor. Working on a diverse team to oversee residents in the Donovan and Johnson halls is a gateway to further my on-campus involvement, as well as developing lifelong skills of leadership, conflict resolution, and time management.
