"From dismantling motorcycle engines and suspension as a child to dismantling data structures today, my engineering journey has been a constant evolution and has shaped me into an engineer who sees the invisible connections in every system, whether made of steel or silicon."With over 15 years of experience in structural engineering and digital innovation, I lead Digital Innovation nationally across Civil and Structural Engineering teams at Hydrock.My expertise lies in leveraging digital tools and workflows to drive innovation and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. I specialize in:• Parametric design using Grasshopper and Dynamo• Software development and programming in C# & Python• Data analysis & visualization• Structural optimization• Measuring and reducing embodied carbonThroughout my career, I've had the privilege of working on a diverse range of projects, from world-class commercial developments like the Stirling prize nominated 100 Liverpool Street to heritage restorations such as the Grade 1 listed Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings. I've also designed specialist structures including post-tensioned stone stairs and canopy structures.In my current role, I support our Civil and Structural teams in effectively utilizing digital tools and assist in the development and automation of tasks. I'm passionate about using technology to analyze multiple solutions quickly, enhance collaboration among stakeholders, and communicate complex design concepts.Committed to sustainable design, I've developed various tools and workflows to allow us to assess and optimise the embodied carbon of our projects rapidly and present these to various stakeholders.Education remains a priority for me. I deliver regular internal training and have previously had the pleasure to tutor final-year undergraduate Architecture and Civil Engineering students at the University of Bath and the University of Cambridge.I'm always eager to connect with fellow professionals, innovators, and anyone interested in the intersection of engineering, technology, and sustainability.
