I serve as the Chief Strategy Officer at American Express – responsible for the company’s medium-to-long term enterprise-wide strategy, running the company’s long-range planning process and ensuring alignment between the enterprise, individual business unit, and M&A strategies.Prior to joining American Express, I spent nearly a decade at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), with a focus on payments and financial services. As Managing Director and Partner for the company, I led BCG’s Payments and Transaction Banking practice for North America and was part of the global payments management team. I advised clients including card issuers, networks, merchant acquirers, payment infrastructure players, and fintechs. I also led payments projects in growth strategy, large scale cost transformation projects, customer journey reimagination efforts, cobrand negotiation and turnaround, and strategic due diligence for both North American and European financial institutions. Prior to joining BCG, I spent over four years working in the technology sector.I received my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium, and my MBA from INSEAD in Singapore.
