Hi there! I'm Alexander Gorman. I started my machining career about 15 years ago at sheet metal fabrication company, manual machining. I learned the ins and outs of machining at the basic level. Reaming, drilling, chamfering, and milling on a bridgeport. Manually tapping on a tapmatic, while slowly training on the Haas milling centers. After about 4 years my mentor at the time, pushed me to switch to Swiss machining. I have so much to thank him for that push to where I am today. My first start in swiss I was fortunate to work with some great trainers who taught me many of the things I still know and use today. Running Star machines in a shop that had a high job turnover, I was able to start learning how to set up and understand programming fast and efficient. Opportunity arose, that I couldn't turn away moved me to RMS where I'm still employed today 9 years later. I learned such a wealth of knowledge here, I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to be here. I had a plan that I wanted to start a company of my own someday, so I needed more experience. I started working for a seperate machining company on the weekends, gaining knowledge about different machines I learned how to run Star SB-16 and Star SH-12 and Tsugami machining centers. The worst company I had ever worked for taught me exactly how not to run a machine shop. High turnover, low morale, with a very poor structure. Truly a painful yet very educational experience, I did learn quite a lot from a few experienced machinists and some great friends along the way. After a year, I took a different weekend position another great company MMD Medical learning, taking in another shops process learning as much as I could looking for great things about them and ways that they could improve. Here I started writing my book "The Warrior Method" a guide to becoming a Great Machinist. It may sound like a grind working seven days a week and it is trust me, but I love being a Machinist. I love it so much I started Warrior Machining LLC in May of 2023. Here we offer high production, guaranteed quality machinists' who contract to companies on the weekend to run machines there unable to utilize. Building a culture of like minded, fast paced, motivated and innovative machinists to join us.
