Working at the Institute for Managing Sustainability, Alexander was responsible for the expert team on responsible sourcing of mineral raw materials. His focus areas include sustainable and resilient mineral supply chains, circular economy and critical raw materials. In addition, he is involved in projects related to Responsible Research and Innovation with special focus on its implementation in the private sector.

Alex is project coordinator of the international multi-stakeholder platform RE-SOURCING funded by the European Commission's Horizon 2020 programme. The platform is aimed at connecting supply chain actors and experts to advance responsible sourcing in three industry sectors that are key to the green and digital transition: renewable energy, mobility, electronics.

ISO/TC 279 currently consists of more than 40 participating member states and is responsible for the development of the ISO 56000 standards on Innovation Management. ISO 56000 provides guidance on the implementation of Innovation Management Principles and Systems in its various aspects. Designed as a high-level series of standards, it is applicable to companies and organizations of all sectors and sizes. Alexander is part of the working group at Austrian Standards International and focuses on the integration of social, economic and environmental sustainability.

Global Goals Consulting is a social enterprise working at the intersection of international development and global business with strong focus on the UN Sustainable Development Goals as a spring board to maximize improvements in social and environmental well-being. Alexander worked on projects with UN entities, NGOs and international private sector initiatives in areas such as Strategic Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation, and the design of Multi-Donor Trust Funds.

Alexander conducted independent research connected to his PhD project with a focus on the pre-modern cross-cultural knowledge transfer between India and Tibet, including Tibetan scholastic methodologies of knowledge production in the fields of grammar and linguistics.

Alexander joined www.nepal-reisen.at, a branch of Reisebüro KUONI Klosterneuburg specialized in cultural and hiking tours to South Asia and the Himalaya region. His responsibilities included:• Leading international group tours (cultural and trekking) of 4-30 persons in Nepal and Bhutan• Organized customized tour programs for individual clients and groups• Correspondence with local and international partners and customers• Developing multi-day tour programs for eastern Tibet in collaboration with local Tibetan guides

Alexander joined the Department of Tibetan and Buddhist Studies as lecturer with the following activities:• Taught undergraduate and graduate classes on Buddhist philosophy and Tibetan literature• Introduced students of Tibetan language to Tibetan indigenous grammars to improve their language proficiency and sensitize them for the particularities and difficulties of the language• Presented students with Buddhist and Ancient Greek conceptions of knowledge, truth and causality to raise awareness of the different historical and social contexts they are rooted in

After an internship in May/June 2003, Alexander joined Wohngemeinschaft St. Martin, a non-profit association offering a home to people with multiple disabilities, as a part-time care assistant. Alexander was responsible for the day care of residents, including housekeeping, personal hygiene, and the organization of free time activities.
