Mechanical Engineering Intern, assisting in Seagate's consumer external hard drive product development. Focus on analysis and improvement of thermal performance of external hard drive products. Design for Manufacturing (DFM) experience through design process of an entirely new external hard drive product. I designed an enclosure in Solidworks based on a provided Industrial Design document from the ground up, with the goal being to design an enclosure around an inherent improvement in thermal performance. Each part of the enclosure was designed specifically for a particular manufacturing process--injection molding, die casting, metal extrusion, compression molding, CNC--and was put through a DFM and cost analysis. Calculation and estimation of thermal resistances from hard drive surface to external surface of enclosure. Calculation and estimation of passive convection coefficients for various Seagate external hard drive products.Examination and analysis of effects of changing hard drive enclosure parameters on the product's thermal power dissipation capabilities. Design and testing of Thermal Dummy test vehicle to mimic temperature distributions of a hard drive inside an enclosure. Used to experimentally determine maximum power dissipation ability of external hard drive product enclosures.

Served as Suspension Lead, one of two people in charge of every aspect of the racecar's suspension subsystem.
