I’m an environmental professional with a passion for sustainability! I’ve collected a wealth of knowledge on strategies to implement sustainable practices in societal and urban systems through my experiences in career, course work, and extracurricular activities.Although it is not clear what the future holds, we should not discount time! I have adopted this in my professional career, as a result, I have worn many hats: engineer, soldier, data analyst, and research assistant. A couple of things I have learned from these diverse experiences is there is no excuse to stagnate and to always hit the ground running.As a soldier for the U.S. Army, I served as a team leader for over 2 years. I supervised teams of engineers for 6 construction projects in the U.S. and S. Korea. This included directing daily operations of up to 5 heavy construction equipment running simultaneously. I was fortunate to have several opportunities to acquire skills outside of construction and became proficient in database management and logistics for department equipment and supplies.My academic experience focused on tackling socio-ecological challenges that are facing our natural and built environments. Through a hands-on research opportunity, I have been able to apply sustainable principles to several research projects by helping prepare research reports, collecting original data, and administering laboratory experiments.
