My time at THG was characterised by identifying and solving the most impactful problems facing the business, as it grew from ~400 to 4000+ employees and expanded globally. As a team lead, I leveraged my experience to help shape the Group's data strategy.Working in data teams across tech and commercial, I built a deep understanding of the e-commerce data landscape, while maintaining a solid grounding in the real-world issues of Digital Marketing, Trading, Operations, etc.Significant stakeholder management experience. Led business critical projects, often reporting directly to senior management team including the Group CFO, CMO, CTO and divisional CEOs. I put considerable effort into mentoring and training, documenting and championing best practice, so new data employees could hit the ground running. But I'm particularly proud of training dozens of commercial staff to use SQL, R, Excel & Tableau to conduct advanced analysis - some even going on to pursue careers in data.Key achievements include* Built general purpose reporting Data Warehouse, initially in my free time. Innovative, non-traditional methods vastly improved performance, accessibility and functionality. Used for 80% of reporting and analysis queries across the Group.* Led project to forecast and mitigate impact of GDPR legislation on Marketing ROI.* Automated Marketing Cost, Attribution and Reporting pipelines.* Led BigQuery GA data migration project, believed to be largest ever undertaken by a company.* Emergency project to design & implement new stock allocation algorithm following warehouse systems failures on Black Friday.* Led team of ML engineers to optimise our Fraud Detection rules. This successful effort led to the creation of new permanent data roles in the Fraud team.* Devised new Marketing Attribution system, reducing Untracked revenue from ~15% to ~1%.* Ownership of our Tableau implementation and GCP Project, including training and administration.
