About Alexander Mitchell
I am a Postdoc at Oxford University and I work on world models and control for dual-arm and loco-manipulation with Professor Ingmar Posner. During my PhD, I pioneered novel methodologies for generating robot locomotion via traversal of structured latent-spaces. This culminates in a universal latent-space which represents all types of locomotion from multiple gaits to perceptive locomotion over uneven terrain. Indeed, we find that our learnt representations for locomotion resemble those found in the brains of primates.
