I got my start in the workforce as a Park Ranger for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. Working for the Federal Government at age 19 instilled a work ethic that I continue to uphold to this day- a strong focus on safety, accountability, and operational success. After there I worked in a poultry production facility doing shipping and receiving, further leading to my focus on operations and understanding how critical they are to a business’s success. I shortly afterward joined the construction field to work with my family as a roofer, learning all I could about construction, tools, the trades, and was looking forward to a long career in roofing. Unfortunately I was laid off a few years later as the company restructured. I sought work at Lowe’s, utilizing my background to land a position that would soon lead to my promotion to management. This was my first time working in retail, so I was taking an approach as an “outsider” or someone who had not had a lengthy career in retail already. After several years of learning and determination, I led my teams and the store I helped manage to success. I am pleased to say that each year as an Assistant Store Manager, the store I worked for beat their sales goals and had their highest selling years on record. Now at Blue Mountain Minerals, I leverage the skills and knowledge of Training, Human Resources, and Team Management to coordinate the training efforts for the hardworking individuals here. This allows me to gain a breadth of knowledge about the industry, foster working relationships, and help grow this business to its highest potential. I am a results-driven individual, and seeing progressive improvements as a direct result of mine and myteam’s hard work drives me to pursue success even more.
