Acrede, the previous company I had worked for as part of my work placement experience, was acquired by Intuit on January 2015. I had migrated my contract for four more months to continue my role to help develop Acrede's Cloud-Based Payroll software.

Intern software developer as part of Plymouth University's. My main role was to help develop Acrede's Cloud-Based Payroll system which used Grails and Groovy.My roles also included:* Helping to maintain the SQL database and to synchronise it with the code-base.* Migrating data from one system to another by developing SQL scripts and or creating a new grails service to perform the migration on startup.* Refactoring code to be more generic or to be reused in other parts of the code.* Fixing issues which are brought up by testers and applying them as hotfixes.* Reviewed colleagues' code, with Atlassian's FishEye, and to bring up potential issues within the issue.* Collaborating with others on Atlassian's JIRA and updating the issues I am working on.
