Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness

Responsible for groups of up to 9 campers at a time, ranging from 9 to 17 years of age, and for outlining and leading trips into the boundary waters area of up to 7 campers, on a variety of 3 to 5 day trips. Stood as active lifeguard on-trail, on open waterfront and kneeboarding activities. Provided instruction to children during in-camp activities such as canoeing, fishing, kayaking, riflery, archery, arts & crafts, rock climbing, sailing, and survival techniques. Delegated the schedules and tasks of children within camp and ensured their safety and preparedness for the wilderness.

Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness

Led trips into the boundary waters area, supervising up to 7 campers on-trail and up to 9 in-camp. Some destinations include Eagle Mountain, the Alpine Loop, Edy Falls, Lake Superior Sailing, and finally the Grand Portage. The Grand Portage entails over 50 miles of paddling and several thousand rods of portaging, concluding with a 9 mile portage. Acted as active lifeguard on trail and on open waterfront activity (supervising as many as 25 campers). Completed Wilderness First Aid certification on the job, added to my general First Aid cert. Also led in-camp activities such as Archery, Riflery, Arts&Crafts, and indoor group games.
